About me & My project
Hi! My name is Rachel Weinberg. I am a rising senior at the Severn School in Severna Park, Maryland. On campus, I play field hockey and swim and am currently working on developing a photography club for students as passionate about the art as myself. Outside of school, I enjoy making short films and videos of my field hockey team, friends, and travels. I developed my love for film in fifth grade when I attended a local film camp and have had a camera in my hand ever since. In 2019, my field hockey coach asked me to film her wedding after seeing the videos I made of our team. This was something I'd never done before, but I was ecstatic to have the opportunity to capture her special day. After a thirteen hour day of filming, I spent the next five months editing her video. I loved everything about filming and editing her wedding video and was sure it was something I wanted to do again. For my Fellow's project, I knew that I wished to explore this passion and learn not only by filming and editing by myself, but develop my techniques and style with the help of seasoned professionals in the industry. I will be interning for Rivion Wedding Films this summer and then will create my own wedding video to apply what I have learned. Join me on my journey as I explore the question: if a picture is worth a thousand words, how much is a video?
